What is Amazon Bedrock?
Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed service that offers a choice of high-performing foundation models (FMs) along with a broad set of capabilities that you need to build generative AI applications, simplifying development with security, privacy, and responsible AI. With the comprehensive capabilities of Amazon Bedrock, you can experiment with a variety of top FMs, customize them privately with your data using techniques such as fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and create managed agents that execute complex business tasks—from booking travel and processing insurance claims to creating ad campaigns and managing inventory—all without writing any code. Since Amazon Bedrock is serverless, you don't have to manage any infrastructure, and you can securely integrate and deploy generative AI capabilities into your applications using the AWS services you are already familiar with.
What is Amazon Q Business?
Amazon Q Business is a fully managed service that deploys a generative AI business expert for your enterprise data. It comes with a built-in user interface, where users ask complex questions in natural language, create or compare documents, generate document summaries, and interact with their third-party applications.
Why should I use Amazon Bedrock?
There are five reasons to use Amazon Bedrock for building generative AI applications.
How can I get started with Amazon Bedrock?
With the serverless experience of Amazon Bedrock, you can quickly get started. Navigate to Amazon Bedrock in the AWS Management Console and try out the FMs in the playground. You can also create an agent and test it in the console. Once you’ve identified your use case, you can easily integrate the FMs into your applications using AWS tools without having to manage any infrastructure.
How does Amazon Bedrock work with other services?
Amazon Bedrock works with AWS Lambda for invoking actions, Amazon S3 for training and validation data, and Amazon CloudWatch for tracking metrics.

How do I customize a model on Amazon Bedrock?
You can easily fine-tune FMs on Amazon Bedrock. To get started, provide the training and validation dataset, configure hyperparameters (epochs, batch size, learning rate, warmup steps) and submit the job. Within a couple of hours, your fine-tuned model can be accessed with the same API (InvokeModel).
How do I manage Amazon Q Business to my workforce users?
You can securely connect your workforce to Amazon Q Business applications and centrally manage workforce access using AWS IAM Identity Center. IAM Identity Center is built on top of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) to simplify access management to multiple AWS accounts, AWS applications, and other SAML-enabled cloud applications. In IAM Identity Center, you create, or connect, your workforce users for use across AWS. You can choose to manage access just to your AWS accounts, just to your cloud applications, or to both. You can create users directly in IAM Identity Center, or you can bring them from your existing workforce directory. With IAM Identity Center, you get a unified administration experience to define, customize, and assign fine-grained access. Your workforce users get a user portal to access their assigned AWS accounts or cloud applications.
How do I ensure that my users receive the appropriate level of information through Amazon Q Business based on their user permissions?
Amazon Q Business helps administrators define the boundary of its capabilities through configurable controls. Amazon Q Business provides fine-grained security by managing enterprise access and access control list (ACL) permissions. When a user asks Amazon Q Business a question, it analyzes the data in the enterprise systems and generates responses only from the content that the user has access to.
How does Amazon Q Business handle security and ensure that responses are based on provided enterprise data only?
Amazon Q Business supports access control for your data so that users have access to the right content based on their permissions. You can integrate your Amazon Q Business web experience with your external SAML 2.0–supported identity provider (such as Okta, Azure AD, and Ping Identity) to manage user authentication and authorization.
